Review: Scary Kids Scaring Kids - Self Titled

The release of SKSK third album was almost unnoticed to me until i seen it in the target. They have moved a long way from the After Dark EP of being a deep dark sound.

Review: New Maps Of Hell

Bad Religion's new record New Maps Of Hell is amazing. The songs have so much energy && the shows to promote the new record where some of the best ive ever been to.

Review: Shorebirds - S/T 7"

With a lineup featuring ex-members of Jawbreaker and Latterman, it would have taken a lot for me not to like this record. Fortunately, that isn't the case.

It’s that time of the year! Scene Point Blank’s end of the year features evaluating the music of 2007 are now online at the site.

http://www.scenepointblank.com

The main feature of the bunch is our listing of the “Top 30 Records of 2007,” which also includes our staff writers’ personal lists of their Top 25 Albums. It’s quite a diverse list this year…

Secondly, is our “Year in Review,” in which our staff comments on the top 7”s, reissues, singles that should never be played again, missed records, worst cover art, and even Scene Point Blank’s Guitar Hero III Expansion Pack! Check out all that and more.

Finally, we’ve continued on with our “Pass the Mic” feature that we initiated last year. With this year's "Pass the Mic" feature, we turn to some of our favorite bands to get their thoughts and opinions on their favorite records of 2007, the impact of donation-based releases, the crackdown on file-sharing, and their most anticipated releases of 2008. Some of the artists included this year are Blacklisted, Coalesce, Converge, Fucked Up, New Idea Society, Oxbow, Rosetta, Set Your Goals, and Tokyo Police Club.

In other news, we’ve added a brand new artist to our Upcoming Talent feature. This time around we talk to Police & Thieves about their formation, the D.C. scene, and their upcoming releases.

We’ve also included our wrap-up feature for The Fest 6. This includes our staff writer Scottie’s personal write up on the weekend as well as mini-interviews with Lemuria, Look Mexico, and Chinese Telephones.

So head over to Scene Point Blank and check it out. And don’t forget that we’ve recently added a new site feature: comments. That’s right, you can now voice your opinions on our lists, reviews, interviews, news, and other content. So be sure to register and let us know what you think. Your feedback will help us better things for next year and the future of the site.
