Review: Scary Kids Scaring Kids - Self Titled

The release of SKSK third album was almost unnoticed to me until i seen it in the target. They have moved a long way from the After Dark EP of being a deep dark sound.

Review: New Maps Of Hell

Bad Religion's new record New Maps Of Hell is amazing. The songs have so much energy && the shows to promote the new record where some of the best ive ever been to.

Review: Shorebirds - S/T 7"

With a lineup featuring ex-members of Jawbreaker and Latterman, it would have taken a lot for me not to like this record. Fortunately, that isn't the case.

Anyone else notice that someone seems to have deleted it? I was just starting to get curious what Adam must have done to get Aaralyn so mad...

heh we're not so mad. promise.

we are just done working with him (if you even want to call it that).

lets just say our split was supposed to be out dec. 17th and its almost february.

its just bad news when 2 parties sign a legally binding contract and only one does the work and spends the time, the energy, and the money to make the album work, while the other spends his time and energy on 4 new pets and a big screen tv.

.. my guess is he deleted it.

wait, you guys seriously thought adam social would come through on something he hyped up? like half of his posts are hype-up posts for things that never happened. half of the inside jokes on this board are about his big plans never coming to fruition.

im fairly new to this board and his empty promises, so i was unaware of any of these posts. we did know about his history with Jay's old band, but gave the kid the benefit of the doubt. we're good people, sometimes a little too trusting maybe.

he put on 2 great shows for us, presented us with a well written contract for this split and then disapeared. lol. thats pretty much the short of it.

either way, ive been doing shit myself for over 6 years now so i'm used to managing my own music projects. We just thought we had a little break with someone who was at least visible in the music scene.

"shit happens"
-forrest gump.

oh, don't get me wrong, i'm not saying he's an asshole for dreaming big... i'm just saying this whole debacle isn't much of a surprise.

i only posted the subject to begin with to warn other bands not to make the same mistake.

yeah, it's not just aaralyn...

We waited and did everything to a T as to what the contract said.. we waited and waited and waited to hear from him and he got back in contact with us... told us that he was finally ready to do shit again ... and then fell off of the face of the earth and ignored EVERYTHING any of us have tried to contact him about.

We were as patient as we could be... but you can only wait so long before it's time to move on...

and the background still says 02.01.08... which was supposed to be the 2nd date of our release (after the one in december didn't happen....)

*sigh*

things would be better if people would just do as i say...

he has called my band one of his favorite local bands, "top five" were his exact words. he even posted it on a forum here, and after about a year we have yet to get a show offer from him. not even an offer.

all the things he wants to do ...its probably just too much for one person to handle. If he had some other people that were dedicated and directed to do certain things, shit like this might not happen. Those people have to know what they are doing though too .... not just "mod" a message board.

there's also something to be said about "if you want something done right then you gotta do it yourself " too ...

i dunno man .... where did the $ come from that you guys were usin to make said record? Was it your loot or were you using loot he got from lord knows where and set aside in some account or what?

you kids are all pretty smart .... i'm sure you can promote your own shows via myspace and fliers, I'm sure you can shop for the cheapest yet decent quality recording studio and pull your own loot together and get this done.

actually ... Tim and Becky I'm gonna shoot you both some info on myspace of a dude that might be able to help you out with a few things.

i'm looking to start a label soon, maybe after the bush-bribe check gets here i'll have money to do my first release. i'll probably post the info here if and when it does happen, but if anyone wants to hold on for 3-4 months i may be able to do something.

I know you probably didn't mean it that way, but I just want to say there have been a lot of capable and dedicated people that served as mods here over the years that did quite a bit of the work in building pittpunk up, online & IRL. the site wouldn't be up now if there hadn't been.

straight Syracuse English PhD style.

yer right duder and I know that people like Superfuzz and yourself have done a good bit ... but others were just here to police the board . Thats not even my point though.... he needs a team thats around a good bit that can think for themselves and be able to take care of certain things involving what he wants to accomplish with this site. Hard to find especially when there is no pay involved .

Eh fuck it ... people should just be happy to have a place to waste time while they are at work and blocked from Myspace ... hehehe
